José Ignacio, Uruguay
Constructed Area:
555 m2
This house was made from a great reform on a simple and small house in the town of José Ignacio. The location of the house in the town generates different possibilities of life since the views of the open sea, the lighthouse and the roofs of the other houses that coexist in the town result in something unexpected. It is very attractive to come back from the beach and after a good shower or bath in the pool, go for a walk through the narrow streets of the town.
On the ground floor there are two very comfortable and independent apartments for guests while two other bedrooms share the middle floor with magnificent views of the sea with a living room and a comfortable open kitchen.
The owner of the house, fan of the kitchen and owner of a successful chain of restaurants, invites his friends to spend unforgettable evenings illuminated by hundreds of candles that bring a special charm to this white town house.
The living room opens onto a large terrace from which you access the pool on another level, surrounded by rustic and attractive coastal plants.
On the upper floor is the generously sized master suite with open views of the sea and the great protagonist: the José Ignacio lighthouse, lonely and strong, brings the roughest waves of the coast, a unique spectacle to be naturally hypnotized during long times without paying attention to the times that mark the hands of the clock.
The wood used in this house is lapacho, a hard wood, eternal of a wonderful old age and low maintenance, ideal for a beach house.
