Las Olas Club se encuentra localizado en las cercanías de las Barrancas de los Lobos en Chapadmalal, un sitio donde podemos observar amplia diversidad de vegetación. Tomando como punto de partida el paisaje circundante la propuesta plantea dos estrategias fundamentales: por un lado, establecer fuertes vínculos con la vegetación existente y por el otro generar recorridos que fomenten la vida en comunidad.
El proyecto se encuentra emplazado en la extensa ochava del terreno, donde un amplio techo de madera con cielorraso de cañizo busca contener los diversos componentes del programa, adaptándose a la vegetación existente y cociendo los programas deportivos y de relajación ubicados a lo largo del recorrido. De esta forma la arquitectura busca preservar la naturaleza dialogando con la misma, generando corredores abiertos de biodiversidad.
Los espacios correspondientes al programa deportivo se encuentran resueltos en sobrios volúmenes de piedra dispuestos como postas a lo largo de la planta baja cuyos desbordes plantean visuales hacia el bosque de pinos marítimos. Dentro de esta disposición podemos ver como el techo liviano hace de nexo entre la vegetación existente y los volúmenes de piedra.
Casi en el centro del conjunto se desarrollan las actividades correspondientes al programa social del edificio conformando un punto de referencia en el recorrido propuesto. En planta baja se encuentra el bar y el espacio de exposición, planteados como un punto de encuentro para los usuarios de las diversas actividades deportivas. Mientras que en planta alta encontramos el restaurante y terraza, espacios que cuentan con visuales hacia todas las orientaciones y a la vez en contacto con las copas de los árboles existentes en el sector.
El planteo está pensado con la versión más acotada de los terrenos propuestos por el jurado, el edificio al tener un carácter lineal deja abierta la posibilidad de confeccionar una plaza en el centro del terreno, pudiendo adaptar la misma al desarrollo de otro tipo de deportes como el skateboarding o la escalada. A su vez por las dimensiones de la propuesta se podrían pensar en posibles ampliaciones al conjunto en el territorio que queda vacante, manteniendo la plaza antes mencionada como nexo entre las partes.
El edificio propone una experiencia donde los usuarios se encuentren en permanente contacto con la naturaleza de forma grupal o individual, disfrutando de una arquitectura despojada pero cálida donde no solo son importantes los espacios interiores sino también como se llegan a estos espacios. Apelando a una mirada vernácula en el empleo de los materiales como la piedra y la madera, respetando la naturaleza existente, para generar sentido de identidad proponiendo una comunidad más conectada con su entorno natural.
[:en]Las Olas Club is located near the Barrancas de los Lobos in Chapadmalal, a place where we can observe a wide diversity of vegetation. Taking the surrounding landscape as a starting point, the proposal presents two fundamental strategies: on the one hand, establishing strong links with the existing vegetation and, on the other, generating paths that promote community life.
The project is located on an extensive octave of the land, where a large wooden roof with a reed ceiling seeks to interlace the various components of the program, adapting to the existing vegetation and gathering the sports and relaxation programs located along the route. In this way, architecture seeks to preserve nature by dialoguing with it, generating open corridors of biodiversity.
The spaces corresponding to the sports program are resolved in sober stone volumes arranged as posts along the ground floor whose overflows offer views towards the maritime pine forest. Within this arrangement we can see how the light roof makes a link between the existing vegetation and the stone volumes.
Almost in the center of the complex, the activities corresponding to the social program of the building are carried out, forming a point of reference in the proposed route. On the ground floor is the bar and the exhibition space, planned as a meeting point for users of various sports activities. While on the top floor we find the restaurant and terrace, spaces that have visuals towards all orientations and at the same time in contact with the treetops existing in the sector.
The proposal is designed with the most limited version of the land proposed by the jury, the building having a linear character leaves open the possibility of making a square in the center of the land, being able to adapt it to the development of other types of sports such as skateboarding or climbing. In turn, due to the dimensions of the project, possible extensions to the complex could be considered in the territory that remains vacant, maintaining the aforementioned square as a link between the parties.
The building suggests an experience where users are in permanent contact with nature as a group or individually, enjoying a stripped-down but warm architecture where not only the interior spaces are important, but also how one gets to these spaces. Appealing to a vernacular look in the use of materials such as stone and wood, respecting the existing nature, to generate a sense of identity by proposing a community more connected with its natural environment.
