Marisa was built in the middle of a forest in Santa Bárbara. It was designed based on sustainable architecture when addressing indoor energy demands and outdoor maintenance needs.
This 200-square-metre summer home was built compactly and comfortably with the intention of being energy-efficient and having zero maintenance costs. Surrounded by local vegetation and covered with locally-quarried stone, it requires no landscaping and the materials will never need painting. The use of reinforced concrete, which is thermally inert enough to keep the inside cool, is combined with cosy areas clad in insulating wood to yield the temperature required inside the home.
[:es]Marisa se construyó en medio del bosque, en Santa Bárbara, y se pensó desde la arquitectura sostenible para dar respuesta a la demanda energética interior y de mantenimiento exterior.
Esta casa de verano de 200 metros cuadrados se construye de forma compacta y cómoda, con la intención de ser energéticamente eficiente y de tener un coste de mantenimiento nulo. Rodeada de vegetación autóctona y cubierta con piedras de la zona, no necesita jardinería ni pinturas en los materiales. La utilización del hormigón armado, que tiene suficiente inercia para mantener fresco el interior, se combina con ambientes cálidos forrados de madera que aíslan la temperatura requerida dentro del hogar.
